Frequently asked questions

Everything you might want to know about FootyQs.

How do I play the games?

Each FootyQs game gives you a football puzzle to solve. Some ask you to find the link between players or clubs; others ask you to recall who played where. You make your guesses and the game instantly tells you how you did, so you can jump into another round straight away. There’s nothing to install — just open a game in your browser and start playing.

Do I need an account to play?

No. You can play as a visitor with a set number of free “goes”. Creating a free account simply gives you a larger allowance of goes.

How do the free goes work?

Visitors get a limited number of free goes to try the games. Registering an account increases that allowance. If you reach your limit, you can either come back later or unlock unlimited play with Premium.

What does Premium give me, and how much is it?

Premium is a one-off £1.99 unlock for your account. It removes ads and gives you unlimited play— no daily limit on goes. It is a single payment, not a subscription, so there is nothing recurring to cancel. Payments are handled securely by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.

Can I get a refund?

Premium is digital content made available to your account immediately on purchase, so refunds are otherwise at our discretion and don’t affect your statutory rights. If something went wrong with your purchase, email us at neilblyth@waivesanalytics.co.uk and we’ll do our best to help. See our Terms & Conditions for the full detail.

Where does the data come from?

Our player, club and career facts come from Wikidata, a freely licensed, community-maintained knowledge base. Using open data lets us draw on a huge pool of football information across many leagues and eras.

Why are some players, clubs or transfers missing?

Because our data is community-sourced, it can be incomplete or occasionally out of date. A recent transfer might not have been added yet, or a lesser-known player may not be fully covered. We treat the games as entertainment rather than an authoritative record. If you spot something wrong or missing, please let us know— we welcome corrections.

Are the answers always correct?

We do our best, but because the underlying data can contain gaps or errors, answers and connections shown by the games should not be relied upon as definitive. Think of FootyQs as a fun challenge, not a reference source.

Is my data safe? What about privacy?

We aim to collect as little personal data as possible and we are transparent about what we do collect. For the full picture — including analytics, advertising and your rights — please read our Privacy Policy.

Why do I see ads, and how do you keep the site free?

Ads help keep FootyQs free to play for everyone. If you’d rather not see ads, the £1.99 Premium unlock removes them and gives you unlimited play at the same time.

How do I withdraw my cookie consent?

You’re in control at all times. Use the “Privacy choices” link in the footer of any page to reopen the consent message and update or withdraw your choices at any time. You can also block or delete cookies for this site in your browser settings. See our Cookie Policy for more.
