Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 8 July 2026

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your use of the FootyQs website (the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Free play, Premium, and personal use

FootyQs is a football quiz and trivia website for your personal, non-commercial entertainment. It is free to play, with a limited number of free “goes” for visitors and a larger allowance for registered accounts. You may optionally buy a one-off Premiumunlock (£1.99) that removes ads and gives your account unlimited play. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. Premium is digital content made available to you immediately on purchase — by buying it you ask us to provide it at once. This does not affect your statutory rights; because access is granted instantly, refunds are otherwise at our discretion (contact us under section 10). You may not use the Service, or any data or content from it, for commercial purposes without our prior written permission.

3. Data accuracy — provided “as is”

The trivia, player, club and career data used in our games is derived from third-party open data sources, primarily Wikidata. This data may be incomplete, out of date or incorrect. The Service and all content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including as to accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose. Answers and connections shown by the games should not be relied upon as authoritative.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

5. Intellectual property

The Service’s name, branding, design, layout, game logic and original content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Underlying factual data sourced from Wikidata is made available by its contributors under the terms that apply to that data (Wikidata content is generally released under the Creative Commons CC0 public domain dedication). Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to our branding or design.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service, or from reliance on any content or data provided through it. This includes indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.

7. Availability and changes to the Service

We may change, suspend or withdraw all or part of the Service at any time without notice. We do not guarantee that the Service will always be available or uninterrupted.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be posted on this page with the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.

9. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. The courts of England & Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service.
